Nannette (Nanny) Update

Nannette is happily adapting to her new foster home and family. The report she is an avid TV watcher has proven to be correct. She loves the Puppy Chow commercial and the one with the California cheese cows. In her new foster home, she's learning to play with another Frenchie and a Dachshund, and apparently has some hidden herding instinct. The household Bulldogs were in for a surprise as she has been attempting to corral them and is doing a good job at it! All this with only the full use of her two front legs.

A comprehensive vet visit revealed significant damage to Nannette's spine; she won't be regaining the use of her back legs. In technical vet speak, she has subluxation of the spine at the point between the thoracic vertebrae and the lumbar vertebrae, and some arthritis and calcification in the right hip/ball joint, but no paralysis. However, the good news is that she isn't experiencing pain and is a happy camper, bopping about the house, playing with her toys, giving kisses, and barking at animals and cartoons on TV. Everything a Frenchie with four functioning legs would do, only she can do it with two. How's that for a talented girl?

Nanette does have some control of her bladder, but needs a little help to finish the job. Nanette's new family would have to learn to change her diapers and learn how to express her bladder once a day. Some online research recommends chiropractic manipulation of the spine to help the function of the bladder improve.

Won't you help keep Nanette in diapers and perhaps give her a little cash for chiropractic care while she waits for that special family? You know you are going to think about her every time you see those talking cheese cows! Just click the Sponsor A Kid-Kid globe and say it's for Nannette!
