Beefy was surrendered to the French Bulldog Village in Massachusetts by a young family which was having enormous difficulty paying for his veterinary needs.  They loved Beefy, and they did their best, but, faced with all of the care the young dog needed, and that they just couldn't afford, they made the reluctant decision to turn him over to rescue so that he could get the care he needed.  Beefy is being fostered in New Hampshire, where there is someone home all the time to keep an eye on him while he undergoes the surgeries that he most likely will need.  This little dog is suffering from allergies so severe, they have left his ears raw and inflamed and literally stuffed with polyps.  The damage to his ears has robbed Beefy of his hearing, and he faces the likelihood of total ear canal ablations - basically, the removal of the entire insides of his ears - so that his suffering can end.  He also has difficulty eating, foaming and choking and vomiting after his meals.  Fortunately, we believe that this problem will be alleviated by a palate resection, which he also very much needs. 

In spite of his problems, Beefy is a happy, affectionate little dog who loves other dogs and everybody he meets, especially children, ample evidence of the wonderful life his former family tried to give him.  He has adapted well to his new foster digs and his new housemates, three French Bulldogs and an English Bulldog - and, of course, two very patient foster parents!  He loves to play with his new buddies, especially his new Frenchie girlfriend, and he loves his new collection of deer antlers (a wonderful natural chew for little beaver Frenchies) and stuffed toys.  We know that when all of his veterinary issues have been addressed, and he is ready to move into a new home, he is going to be a marvelous companion for some very lucky family.
