04/20/08 Molly Update

Please welcome our new little miss, Molly O'Malley Magee, with her one brown eye and her one blue eye!  Named in honor of St. Patrick's Day, sweet little Molly was one of two French Bulldogs that were surrendered to a local rescue group in Tennessee by a commercial kennel on March 16th.   A Kentucky FBV volunteer with her wonderful husband at the wheel - thank you, Jeff! - having got the call, drove over 650 miles round trip to pick up Molly and her 4 year old companion, a male  French Bulldog named Otis, from the local rescue group. Molly arrived at the pick up point very scared, smelly and dirty, with overgrown nails and her uterus partially hanging out of her.  Life hadn't been very good to this little girl.

This very timid and frightened little Frenchie didn't know what to do with her sudden change of circumstances.  Poor little Molly could not walk but sat absolutely frozen stiff wherever she was put when she was taken out of her crate.  Her foster Mom and Dad report that, after arriving at her foster home, Molly did not move or walk for over 36 hours, she stuck like glue to the inside of her crate.  Her foster family is perfectly willing to wait her out; they know that Molly needs time and space to adjust to a new and completely different life.

Molly has already been to the vet to be spayed.  She's had her overgrown nails cut back, she's on medication for a troublesome infestation of giardia, a parasite that lives in the intestine and is passed in the stool, a not uncommon affliction of overstressed dogs living in crowded conditions.

Our little Molly is already hopeful that these are good changes in her life.  A recent note from her foster mom stated "Molly wandered out of her crate and into the living room today. It could take months for Molly to blossom into a spoiled Frenchie Diva, but she wants to love and be loved so badly!!!"  It's time for this girl to have the life of a pampered Frenchie, a life she has never lived before but has always deserved!

Molly needs help with her medical expenses, and she could certainly use a new bed, toys, collar and leash while she is learning to live a normal life with the help of her foster parents.  Please help us help Molly by clicking on the "Sponsor A K-Kid" globe.  Thank you very much!
